After 5 years the Warriors of Slauria resin figure line....IS BACK. Enter: The Savage Swamps!
Yes after 5 long years the Warriors of Slauria have returned! It has been a looong road to get to this point over the years. Between 2014 and 2017 I legitimately never thought I would make anything resin again. I actually switched gears to plushie making as I have always enjoyed working with fabric and it can be a great medium to create with, but that did not pan out either.
Fast forward to mid-April of this year when one Gabriel Barragan contacted me about a resin ship I had made years ago.
Alien 'Mercs Monday continues with a Lost Episode from Season Two!!
This week while I prepare to shoot the BIG fight scene for Alien Mercenaries Return Episode 5, I am putting up a small 7-panel episode that I litterally just found about a week or two ago.
When I do photo shoots for Alien Mercenaries episodes, I take as many shots as I can because I never know which angles will look best or allow for the placment of dialgoue bubbles without blocking the characters. This means I may shoot 30 pictures for an episode and only use 15 or so. It all varies depending on the pacing of the story and such.
Alien Mercenaries Monday continues with an all new episode of Alien Mercenaries Return!
Hey everybody! Next episode of Alien Mercenaries Return is up HERE for your reading pleasure! This one is a build-up to episode 5 which is sure to be one knock-out, drag-out fight!
Alien Mercenaries Return starts...NOW!
I had not planned on revisiting these stories anytime soon, mainly as so much time had passed I could not figure out how to progress the story. Especially since I had taken the team on other adventures after Season 2 went on permanent hiatus after only 10 episodes.
Alien Mercenaries VS the Canne'boids Photo Comic!!
Back in March of 2011 I was due to have my first Glyos compatible resin figure release: the Canne'boids. Buuuut due to some delays that caused timing issues it had to get pushed back four months until August.
I had created a 39 Panel photo comic for this release to make it more of an event. Unfortunately over the years Photobucket (the website that hosted all my images) has been very buggy and lots of links to images were lost...but now I have found them.
Blast from the Past: 2011 Canne'boids release!
Hard to beleive that 7 years ago I had my very first resin Glyos compatible toy release. On August th 2011 eighteen Canne'boids (10 Black and 8 Blue) went up for sale and I had a near sell out by the end of the weekend.
Matt Doughty gave me the idea to include unique hand sculpted parts with each 'boid as no one had or was doing that at the time. I am glad I listened to his suggestion as they were loads of fun to create.
There has been a new gallery added that shows all 18 Canne'boids along with brief text to explain some of the sculpted bits. Check it out below:
Spotlight: Tru'lee Sharkrageous & Hydris the Mer-Lizard
Today I'm just going to talk a little bit about the designs of the plushies I made, what inspired them, how did I design the patterns, etc..
Tru'lee Sharkrageous
This guy was a lot of fun to make and also very challenging. He was the first of my action plushies to be of a larger width so he ends up being a very big toy.
Sharkleberry Fin Kool-Aid was a huge inspiration for this guy, as well as the garish neon colors of the 1980's.
The story behind "Action Plushies"
With every release I have had, there has been a story to it, just like with any other toy line, and with these plushies that is no different.
These plushies are actually toys of toys, if that makes any sense? When I made a Ston'emm action figure it was a plastic representation of the Ston'emm species from the planet Slauria. These plushies only exist as toys, which directly ties into my next project. What is that next project? Let me sum-up as it is a lot to explain quickly.
The next step for Bah'glenn Creations: Action Plushies!
Toys have always been a huge part of my life, from when I was a little kid until age 37 when I design, draw and sculpt my own. Since about 2008 I've been pretty steadily creating toys, mostly by drawing ideas up and sculpting them with polymer clay, but this past summer I took things in a very different direction: plush toys. Surprisingly the fabric medium is incredibly versatile and in ways that plastic just can't.
