Abilities: As a ston’emm Crystal Mystic, Quarrg can channel the energies of the universe through the core crystal atop his staff. This allows him to levitate objects, emit blasts of energy through the crystal, sense crystals within 100 foot radius and repair cracked crystals. He is also an expert crystal cultivator and can grow crystals for a multitude of uses, including heat-resistant armor.
Bio: When still on Slauria, and also very young, Quarrg’s tribe was in dire need of a crystal mystic after theirs was devoured by a magma squid in the molten sea of Scorr’ch. Journeying through the Lavarrians volcanic region territory, Quarrg passed the many tests set before him and was imbued with the powers of the crystal mystic. One of the oldest living of his order after the wars on Slauria with the Lavarrians, Frrr’ohst and then the Shadoh’zan destroyed most of them, he’s determined to defeat the Armorvors and continue the teachings of crystals to other younger ston’emms.
NYCC 2012 Ston'emms Release:
In this gallery you will see all 39 different Ston'emm figures cast by Jeremy Sung of Spy Monkey Creations for the first Ston'emms release at NYCC 2012. Jeremy also designed and sculpted the crystalline brains/eyes for all the light-piped Ston'emms.
Just about every Ston'emm also had their teeth, toes and back crystals painted by my wife Beth Negri and each came in a baggie with a header card stapled to it digitally designed by me (Chris Negri). The back of each header card also had the name and number of the Ston'emm enclosed in the baggie.
UPDATE- 9/4/2021: Added some more photos of the Ston'emms made from this release in addition to some behind-the-scenes photos taken by Jeremy Sung of Spy Monkey Creations of the raw castings! These photos had been lost to time on our Photobucket account and over on the old Blogspot blog, so this is the first time in 9 years they have been made available to look at.
